Habboba is a mobile video-based storytelling studio, The name HABBOBA is inspired by my late grandmother’s legacy of radical hospitality and community building through storytelling.
Habboba is a vehicle for transformation to our communities, a platform to amplify the voices that are often not heard or marginalized.
Our first series is “SALAM” which means peace in Arabic. The goal of this series is to engage the segregated Sudanese communities in Cleveland in a dialogue about peace and what it means to them in Sudan and in their new home America.
Our second series is focused on the decades-long crisis of environmental injustice of Lakeview Terrace, in Ohio City “WE CAN’T BREATHE” is stories of residents who have been chronically impacted by the alarming air quality issues caused by private quarries and systemic racisaim in Urban housing.
